Recently, the winners of the Cultural and Creative Design Competition of Taishan Design Cup of 2019 were announced. The graduation project of landscape design of environmental design major in the School of Art, designed by Zhang Qiang and other students, "Wild Interest of Cliffs and Tides-- Renovation of Traditional Old Buildings in Xiaoshi Island"(Instructor: Zhang Jian), won the only gold award in the category of environmental and space design of this competition.

As one of the most important competitions in the province's design field, the Cultural and Creative Design Competition of Taishan Design Cup of 2019 is reported to be themed with "New Driving Force, New Business Format, and New Creativity" under the guidance of the Publicity Department of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, co-sponsored by the Provincial Department of Education, Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Provincial Department of Commerce, the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Bureau of Radio and Television, the Dazhong News Group, the Provincial Party Committee of the Youth League, the Secretariat of the Confucius Foundation, Shandong Radio and Television Station, Shandong Publishing Group, and the Shandong Cultural and Creative Design Industry Association. According to the rules of the competition, the works of students, enterprises, and university teachers in the same design category shall be selected together without distinction of group. And there is one gold award, three silver awards, and ten bronze awards for environment and space design. The gold medal winner will receive a grant of 20,000 yuan. This award not only fully demonstrates the teaching level and school-running strength of our environmental design major, but also enhances the social influence and reputation of our design discipline.
